As we reach the end of 2022, I like to take time to review the goals I set for myself and determine if I have unmet goals that are still achievable. I also try to take time to meet with my advisors to make any adjustments that are needed to my financial plan and for taxes as I approach year-end and get ready for the new year. If you are like me, set goals for 2022 to accomplishing a number of things, now is the time to make sure you have reached them. I like for things to be neat and tidy which is one of the reasons I enjoy working in the area of estate planning. I also like to have a plan. If you are like me, some of the things you might consider doing as we end 2022 include:
- Review your Estate Plan to ensure the people named as agents are able to serve.
- Pull together a current list of all of your real property and financial assets.
- Pull together a list of your insurance policies.
- Meet with your CPA/Tax Accountant to review your anticipated taxes for 2022 and to discuss if there are any additional contributions, gifts or other steps you may be able to make to make a positive impact on your taxes.
- Meet with your Financial Advisor to review your investments and to discuss any changes you wish to make prior to starting 2023.
Taking these steps can have a positive result as you reach 2022 year-end and start 2023.
