Each year, as December 31st approaches, I consider the things I hope to accomplish next year and document my New Year’s Resolutions. I typically include at least one goal / resolution that is focused on finances, one focused on health or wellness, and one focused on family. Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? According to Forbes, studies have shown that less than 25% of people actually stay committed to their resolutions after just 30 days and only 8% accomplish them! https://www.forbes.com/sites/ashiraprossack1/2018/12/31/goals-not-resolutions/#73908a483879 The article encourages us to make goals that are specific rather than resolutions that tend to be broad and vague.
Are you setting any goals for yourself in 2020? If so and if your resolutions or goals for 2020 include completing your estate plan, I hope you will consider meeting with an attorney to understand the options that exist for your specific situation.
At Grissom Law, we work with clients to prepare estate plans, including but not limited to Last Will and Testaments, Revocable Living Trusts, Healthcare Directives, and Powers of Attorney. We would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you, discuss your needs and then to work with you to prepare and execute documents that meet your needs. We might even be able to help you complete a goal or resolution! Call us at 678-781-9230 to schedule a time to meet with us.
